Absorbed in thoughts

Sat Jan 31, 2009, 4:10 PM
Today, when i read the last issue of the magazine "M!", i thought of the many years in which I played with PlayStatoin & Co. I experienced wonderful moments, full of emotions. Happiness, Sadness, Fear, Rage and more.
Since i got my first own Game console, the Atari 2600, i was imprisoned. Me and my best friend played day for day, week for week.
I got more: NES, SNES, GB, GBA, N64...
Then appeared the Play Station! My god, what a dream! I`m falling in love with it. And i still love my baby.:heart:
Today, where i own a PS2, PSP, NDS, PS3 and a Xbox 360, my good old PSOne is more and more a memory. It stands still beside all my other game consoles, but the laser is no longer 100% functionally and the controller,too. I use the PS2 to play classic games like Tomb Raider 2 or Resident Evil 2. However my PSOne will ever be in my Heart. I`ll love it, if i lay in my grave.

Now i want to honour my favorite games on my favorite game consoles.

+++++++++++++++++++++

~~~~DREAMCAST:rose:
A great console with a tragic history. I never owned a Sega console, but when i saw the Dreamcast i have to buy one! I don`t know why, but i`ve never repents. The Dreamcast is full of charme, which i miss today. My personal best Game:
~~~~SHENMUE
Oh god, i love Shenmue! It`s not a game, it`s a experience! I never played a game so full of emotions, till today. I cried many times, and after the Endscene i must think about myself. Today i read a fictitious interview with Ryo Hazuki. Again the tears ran...

~~~~PLAY STATION:rose:
There are many good games, but my favos are:
~~~~TOMB RAIDER 2
Adventures, Mysterys, Story with the sexiest Game Babe alive! I like "The Adventures of..." despite of some bad criticisms. My favorite section > The floating Isles! I was scared.
~~~~RESIDENT EVIL 2
The best RE i think. Great Charakters and Locations. With RE2, i experienced many funny moments with my best friend. We spent our Summer Holidays for this Game. I never forget the Scene, where the Licker came out of the mirror! My friend spun the controller away from him! :rofl:
~~~~SUPER NINTENDO
What should i say? Nothing, the SNES was fantastic!
~~~~DONKEY KONG SERIES
Rare at it`s best! 100% perfect gaming!
+++++++++++++++++++++
Hmm i like my PS3 and Xbox 360,too. But they`ll never reach the Charisma of the old Classics.
I was mad when they stopped making PS3s backwards compatible. That was the main thing that led me to get an Xbox 360 instead. No more Soul Blade for me. Soul Calibur IV isn't quite the same. It's nice to see some of the old characters still going strong but now it's turned into just another ridiculous Japanese fighting game, it doesn't have the unexplainable charm the original game did.
The are sexier game babes out there than Lara Croft, though! =P Are you familiar at all with BloodRayne? The game itself wasn't so good, sadly.
:iconlaguzinthelake:
hm, i heard that a backwards-compatible version is available, but you have to pay more O.o; I guess sooner or later there will be ways to play the old games on ps3.
The first few that were produced were backwards compatible, yeah, but after a few months Sony had a new model that has a blu-ray player (which I don't think the others had) and a larger hard disk but no backwards compatibility.
We were supposed to be so excited by the blu-ray player (which, actually, nobody is the slightest bit excited about at all) that we didn't care anymore about the backwards compatibility issue.
:iconlaguzinthelake:
Well, i never found out what's so special about blue ray... that's just new-fashioned stuff i don't need at all ._.;
I guess I prefer to stay with my PS2 as long as it works... There are no PS3 games yet which caught my interest you know...
Why blu ray?
Kapitalismus, mostly. First they sold VHS tapes. But then they weren't making enough money from those, and rewinding them was a bit of a pain anyway, so they started making DVDs and everyone had to buy all their favorite movies again. But then it got to the point they were having the same problem with DVDs, so they come up with "high definition" DVDs that end up being called "blu ray" so that way everyone will want to buy their favorite movies AGAIN a third time even though I think you have to have superhuman eyesight to really be able to appreciate the difference in video quality between DVD and blu ray. =P
:iconlaguzinthelake:
superhuman eyesight FTW. Sorry, I'm more blind during the day and have better sight at night o.o *creepy vampire-bat-attitude* X''D
I think it`s the same with Resident Evil. 1-3 were really good games ( okay some lightgun shooters, and the Outbreak series are other storys :XD: ) but since 4, the Series lost it`s charme. Sure 4 and 5 are fantastical Games, great hig resoulution graphics, interesting gameplay and so on. However it`s NOT Resident Evil anymore! What should i do with Las Plagas?! I`ll the Virus! Where is Umbrella? Now just a mute?
In these times, i`m happy that i`ve my backwards compatible ( ;) ) PS2.
It`s sad, many series lost the typical aura:
Silent Hill
Resident Evil
Soul Blade ( for you :) )
Banjo Kazooie ( aww i loved the original N64 version T__T )
btw. Sure there a another sexy game babes ( woah Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball :drool:) but Lara is a special person for me :)
